Replace Materials
Replace one material, or prepare several replacements for a scanned scope.
- Where to find it
- Main toolbar → Replace Materials
- Scope
- Full-model or selection scan scope
- What changes
- Reassigns materials in the chosen scope.
On this page
How to use it
- Open Replace Materials and choose Simple or Batch.
- Choose Scan Selection or Scan Model for the intended scope.
- Choose the Current and New materials; in Batch, use Assign Selected to prepare the mappings.
- Review the plan, then choose Apply.
Expected result
Replace a selected cabinet’s oak with walnut. A selection scan keeps the intended replacement scope explicit.
Controls & options
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Simple | Use the Current and New material lists for a one-to-one replacement. |
| Batch | Prepare multiple source-to-destination mappings. |
| Scan Model / Scan Selection | Choose and scan the intended scope. |
| Mapping filter | Show All, Unmapped or Mapped source materials. |
| New Material | Choose the destination material. |
| Assign Selected | Add the selected current materials to the replacement plan. This prepares mappings; it is not the final Apply. |
| Remove All | Clear the prepared mapping rows. |
| Apply | Execute the prepared mappings for the current scan scope. |
Behavior and limits
Review the source and destination materials before applying. A destination may already be used elsewhere; replacement does not mean that unrelated objects should be added to a saved variant family.
After changes to geometry or scope, rescan and review the mapping plan.
